The incubator’s scientific support include animal care services at subsidized rates, hazardous waste pickup, type I deionized water, dry ice, lab reviews, classes and training through the Environmental Health and Safety unit.

PRI provides antibody engineering and cell line development on a fee-for-service basis—no royalties, no milestones.
PRI utilizes the proven Protein Design Laboratory (PDL) humanization technology. More than 250 rodent monoclonal antibodies have been humanized using this technology with more than two dozen FDA-approved products. In recent years, PRI has humanized >20 murine antibodies; the majority yielded affinities greater than the parent antibodies. Half of these antibodies have entered human clinical trials. No human anti-mouse antibody responses have been reported to date.
Human antibody frameworks are expertly designed by alumni of PDL, with minimal sequence modification and without the reduction in affinity commonly seen by other approaches. Importantly the unique humanized antibody amino acid sequence that results can be patent-protected by the customer.
PRI offers a full wide range of preclinical contract histology and pathology research and development services spanning all aspects of routine paraffin slide preparation, frozen section, cytology, smears, plastic slide preparation, routine and histological special staining, immunohistochemistry, Immuno-fluorescence, antibody optimization, protocol development, digital imaging, and evaluation.
Monoclonal Antibody Production Service
PRI develops and produces monoclonal antibodies according to customer specifications. Customers receive producer cell clones, which allows them to work with an identical and well-defined antibody for many years. We offer liquid nitrogen storage, as well as all other services necessary to provide you with a new batch of antibody whenever needed.
PRI can produce monoclonal antibodies from ascites fluid, using either a cell line produced through our in-house antibody program or a cell line provided by a customer.

Memantine

The PRI team spear-headed the initial development of memantine (Namenda®) – the first FDA approved drug that alters the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease.
Memantine is an adamantane derivative shown to be an open channel blocker of the N-methyl D-aspartate (NMDA) subtype of glutamate receptors. Memantine is used for the treatment of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Memantine is likely to be useful for treatment of other conditions associated with overactivity of the NMDA receptor, such as neuropathic pain, stroke, ALS and Huntington’s disease.

Marinobufagenin (MBG)
PRI’s immunoassay for marinobufagenin (MBG), a cardiotonic steroid implicated in salt-sensitive hypertension, preeclampsia, traumatic brain injury, and other disorders, is a competitive ELISA with sensitivity to <1 pg of MBG, minimal cross-reactivity to resibufogenin, telocinobufagin, and other cardiotonic steroids, and excellent reproducibility. Analysis of MBG in urine is possible without sample pretreatment. Plasma MBG analysis requires pretreatment. Contact PRI for pricing, turnaround, or other questions.
Lucidant Polymers, LLC currently operating from the Panorama incubator, develops specialty chemicals for life sciences applications. Lucidant’s particular expertise is acrylamide-based polymers for bioseparations: ultra high MW linear polyacrylamide for capillary gel electrophoresis of DNA, novel monomers for high-resolution gel separations, and microarray coatings for DNA and protein analysis. Lucidant has been registered to the ISO9001:2008 Quality standard since 2012.
